  Studio Policy


The Music Teacher's Association of California (MTA) has adopted the following policy as a  means of clarifying business relationships between teacher, students, and parents. This agreement also includes beneficial modifications for private students of Thais Gibson-Doyle.


1. Lesson payment:    The tuition rate is $30.00 per half hour lesson due at the end of each month. If you are a CYT family I am offering reduced rate lesson at $25.00 per half hour lesson. Once you register yourself/your student you will be sent an invoice at the of each month which will outline the number of lessons and the cost for that month. Payment can be made online through the website (if you choose that option when you register) through PayPal or with a check written out to Thais Gibson Doyle.  Additional cost or fees: Students are responsible for purchasing their own lesson materials upon the recommendation of the teacher. There may also be additional fees associated with group classes, performances and/or yearly recitals should the student choose to participate in those. 


2.  Scheduling and Attendance:  There is a reserved space for you/your student(s) with the understanding that they will have a lesson each week at that time. Please contact me if student cancellation is necessary and I will try to fit in a make-up lesson.  

A tardy student will have only the time remaining in the lesson period to receive instruction. 

If a permanent conflict arises with this lesson time, please feel free to contact me to discuss alternate arrangements. I am happy to work with you to ensure a weekly lesson time that complements both of our schedules.

Occasionally a conflicting commitment or illness may make it necessary for me to cancel your lesson. On these occasions, a make-up lesson will be provided within that semester.
